The Real McKoy

Steven McKoy has been patiently waiting for a hand to move all in with and finally found one. He moved all in from middle position for 39,000 total. Action folded to Jean Gaspard in the small blind and he made the call. Ken "Bama" Christopher folded out of the big blind.

McKoy held pocket jacks and Gaspard held {9-Hearts} {6-Clubs}. The board ran out {Q-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {K-Hearts} to give McKoy the double and a little bit more life.

A Lil Preflop Action

First in from the button, Ken "Bama" Christopher came in raising to 42,000. Big blind Billy Kopp felt the urge and put in a re-raise to 95,000. Without much delay, Bama moved all in for 367,000 total. Kopp took his time to consider his options, shooting the odd glance across the table before releasing his hand into the muck.

Chippies

Seven handed, here are the counts:

Jean Gaspard - 1,515,000
Billy Kopp - 760,000
Ken Christopher - 375,000
Daniel Walsh - 252,000
Justin Allen - 142,000
Anita Vasquez - 80,000
Steven McKoy - 62,000

The Pace of Play

After that little surge of chip slinging, things have calmed right back down at the table. The overall mood is relatively passive with the majority of the pots being taken down uncontested right now. We've had three or four walks in the last orbit, and the rest of the hands have been won with a single preflop raise or a single postflop bet.

In fact, as I'm typing, the last three hands in a row have all been walks to the big blind. "Lots of walkin' going on," noted emcee Steve Frezer as he called another dealer into the box to try and spice things up.

It'll be interesting to see how long this inactivity will last as the short stacks get ever shorter.

Kenny Milam Eliminated in 8th Place ($25,966)

Kenny Milam - 8th Place
Kenny Milam - 8th Place
From late position, Billy Kopp came in with a raise to 31,000. Two seats down, Kenny Milam moved all in for his last 86,000. Kopp quickly called, and Milam's tournament life was hanging in the balance.

Showdown
Kopp: {K-Spades} {K-Hearts}
Milam: {A-Hearts} {7-Diamonds}

The flop was dry, coming {9-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {3-Spades}. The {7-Hearts} on the turn opened the door just a little as Milam picked up a pair. Unfortunately for him though, the river blanked off with the {2-Diamonds}, and with that, Kenny Milam becomes our 8th-place finisher. He'll take home nearly $26,000 for his work over the past three days.

Kurt Scheer Eliminated in 9th Place ($21,971)

Kurt Scheer - 9th Place
Kurt Scheer - 9th Place
Kenny Milam opened the action and was flatted in two spots by Kurt Scheer and Jean Gaspard. The flop came down {Q-Clubs} {J-Spades} {9-Spades} and Milam checked.

Scheer fired 50,000. Gaspard called in position before Milam folded.

The turn brought the {10-Spades} and Scheer immediately moved all in. Gaspard paused, but then made the call.

Showdown
Scheer: {A-Spades} {K-Spades}
Gaspard: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}

Scheer was in the lead with one card to come holding a flush. He even had one of Gaspard's outs in the {Q-Spades}. After the dealer burned a card, he dealt the river... the {J-Clubs}! Just like that, Gaspard filled up and eliminated Scheer in ninth place.

Scheer was the first out busted from the final table and earned nearly $22,000 for his finish.

Gaspard Takes Another

Kurt Scheer started things off with an open-limp from the hijack seat. Justin "LockdownTex" Allen limped from the cutoff and then Anita Vasquez limped from the button. Jean Gaspard completed from the small blind before Ken Christopher checked his option in the big blind.

The flop came down {J-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} and everyone checked to Allen. He fired a bet of 22,000. Vasquez flat-called and then Gaspard put in a raise to 82,000. Everyone folded and Gaspard took the pot.

Tens Good for Scheer

Kenny Milam raise from early position to 24,000. Kurt Scheer made the call as did Billy "Patrolman35" Kopp from the big blind. The three players saw the flop come down {Q-Spades} {5-Hearts} {4-Diamonds} and Kopp led for 37,000. Milam ducked out of the way, but Scheer made the call.

The turn brought the {4-Hearts} and both players checked. The river brought the {Q-Clubs} and once again both players checked. Scheer rolled over two black tens, {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}, and Kopp mucked his hand.
