David Hiers is the Bubble Boy

Action folded around to John McDonald in the cutoff seat and he limped in. David Hiers was next to act on the button and moved all in for 22,500 total. Everyone folded back around to McDonald.

"It's not a big hand, but I like it," said McDonald as he stuck in the chips for the call. After the cards were revealed, Hiers held a dominating position to double up.

Showdown:
Hiers: {K-Spades} {10-Hearts}
McDonald: {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

The flop came down paired, {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. The turn put a second pair on board with the {5-Clubs} and kept Hiers in the lead. He only needed to dodge one more card on the river.

The dealer burned the final card and BAM smacked the {Q-Clubs} on the felt. Hiers shot his hands up into the air and couldn't believe it. He was eliminated on the bubble in 10th place in an extremely unlucky fashion.

The remaining players all congratulated Hiers on his efforts and he wished them all luck.
