It all comes down to this: After five days of poker in Montreal, Quebec, Canada a 2015 partypoker World Poker Tour Canadian Spring Championship winner will be crowned today.
Six players will enter the final table at the Playground Poker Club, but just one will leave with the $237,390 first-place prize, a customized Playground Poker WPT Championship Belt and Trophy and a seat in the WPT Season XIV World Championship that comes with it.
Play will begin just after 12 p.m. local time with Prince Edward Island native Trevor Delaney in the driver seat. Delaney will start the final with almost 3.2 million in chips, having already locked up enough prize money to more than double the $40,000-plus in live tournament earnings he's previously collected from a half a dozen Canadian-based events.
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada's Sheraz Nasir is close with just shy of 2.7 million, having already bested the 10th-place finish he made at WPT Montreal back here at Playground this past November.
Toronto's Lu Zhang just missed a final table appearance at WPT Fallsview in Niagara Falls, Canada earlier this year and she's next with 2.5 million and a chance to become the first woman ever to win an open event on the WPT.
Delaney's pal and and Nova Scotia native Gary Lucci is next, bringing 1.25 million into the final, following up on a 57th-place finish at WPT Montreal this past November.
Penetanguishene, Ontario's Levi Stevens has already cashed three times in prelims here at the partypoker WPT Canadian Spring Championship including two final tables and is looking to bookend the series with a big score, coming in with 765,000.
And finally, a year after in which he dominated the WPT with a win at WPT Johannesburg and runner-up finishes at WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star and WPT Fallsview, Dylan Wilkerson will be looking to take advantage of his clear experience edge, coming in with 740,000.
The WPT is hosting a live stream of the action on a 30-minute delay featuring commentary from WPT Raw Deal host Tony Dunst and Canadian Pro Griffin Benger over on WPT.com.
However, the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand providing up-to-the-minute live updates and videos throughout, so stay tuned for a snapshot off all the action right here.
