Denisov Denies Dempsey Dough
We're not sure how Dempsey got short, as he started the day with a way above average. We are sure he's out though, as our World Poker Tour blog colleague told us.
Alexander Denisov opened with a raise to 2,600 from the cutoff, and James Dempsey defended his big blind with just 6,000 behind.
With a front push on , Dempsey made the stop and go move we saw all too often years ago, but has become a rarity in the modern poker era.
Denisov wasn't impressed, and made the call with as soon as he found out the 6,000 Dempsey had put forward, was all there was. Dempsey turned over for two live cards and a gutshot.
The took away the kings and jacks as outs for Dempsey, and the on the river wasn't going to cut it either. Dempsey eliminated, Denisov at about 80,000.
