Hands #161-163: Back and Forth

Hand #161 - Kirk Morrison has the button, and he folds.

Hand #162 - Carlos Mortensen has the button, and he folds. Morrison shows {A-Spades}{4-Spades} as he collects the blinds and antes.

Hand #163 - Kirk Morrison has the button, he limps for 1.2 million, and Mortensen checks. The flop comes {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and both players check. The turn card is the {10-Clubs}, Mortensen bets 1.2 million, and Morrison calls. The river card is the {J-Diamonds}, Mortensen checks, Morrison bets, and Mortensen folds. Morrison takes the pot.

The Thrilla at the Bellagio

Like a heavyweight boxing match, both payers have been exchanging vicious blows. Just when one player knocks down the other to the canvas, that player jumps up and is ready to fight. Mortensen was ready to die on several instances but Morrison could not put him away. Mortensen had a few chances himself to knock out Morrison but two river saves stood in the way of Mortensen making history. I'm positive that Carlos Mortensen will be having nightmares about the {10-Diamonds}.

Hand #160 - Carlos Mortensen has the button, he moves all in, and Morrison calls all in for 9 million with {A-Hearts}{6-Clubs}. Mortensen shows {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}, and he'll need to improve to win the tournament on this hand.

The flop comes {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, and Morrison flops two pair to solidify his lead. Mortensen needs something runner-runner to win this hand.

The turn card is the {10-Spades}, and Mortensen picks up a flush draw. Any spade other than the six of spades, and Carlos Mortensen makes history.

The river card is -- the {5-Diamonds}. Kirk Morrison doubles up yet again to retake the chip lead.

Hand #159: Kirk Morrison Doubles Through Carlos Mortensen

Hand #159 - Kirk Morrison has the button, he moves all in for 4.4 million, and Mortensen calls with {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. Morrison shows {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}, and he'll need to improve to stay alive.

The flop comes {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}, and Morrison picks up a flush draw and a ton of outs -- he needs an eight, a seven, or any diamond to survive.

The turn card is the {Q-Clubs}, and Morrison is once again down to his last card. If he misses, Carlos Mortensen will make history.

The river card is -- the {10-Diamonds}!

Kirk Morrison makes a flush on the river to stay alive, and Mortensen is once again denied victory.
