Hands #45-52: Duhamel Getting Short

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Hand #45: Jonathan Duhamel limped the button and Mike Watson checked his option from the big blind. Watson then check-folded to a bet of 6,000 on the {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop.

Hand #46: Watson limped the small blind, Sam Higgs checked his option from the big blind, and then both players checked the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop. After the dealer burned and turned the {K-Diamonds}, Watson bet 7,500 and then folded when Higgs popped it to 25,000.

Hand #47: Watson raised to 12,500 on the button, Higgs called from the small blind, and the flop came down {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{a-Spades}, which they both checked. When the {3-Spades} appeared on the turn, Higgs bet 16,000 and Watson folded.

Hand #48: Duhamel limped the small blind, Watson checked the big, and then both players checked the {8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} flop. When the {5-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, Duhamel bet 10,000 and Watson folded.

Hand #49: Duhamel raised to 15,000 from the button then called when Watson three-bet to 50,000 from the small blind. Both players proceeded to check it down as the board ran out {6-Spades}{a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Watson showed the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Duhamel mucked.

Hand #50: Watson raised to 12,500 from the button and won the blinds.

Hand #51: Higgs raised to 12,000 from the button and Watson called from the big blind. Watson then check-folded to a bet of 18,000 on the {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts} flop.

Hand #52: Watson called from the small blind, Higgs checked his option from the big, and the flop came down {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}. Watson bet 7,500, Higgs called, and then both players checked the {K-Hearts} turn. Action repeated itself on the {10-Spades} river and Watson showed the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for two pair and the win.

Jamie Pickering Eliminated in 4th Place (AU$ 36,449)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Jamie Pickering - 4th Place
Jamie Pickering - 4th Place

Hand #40: Mike Watson raised to 12,500 from the button and folded to the three-bet of Jonathan Duhamel out of the big blind to 40,000.

Hand #41: Jamie Pickering received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #42: Pickering limped from the small blind and bet 8,500 on the {5-Hearts}?{4-Clubs}?{J-Spades} flop. Watson called and they checked the {5-Clubs} on the turn. On the {J-Clubs} river, Pickering checked and Watson grabbed some chips, making it 20,000 to go. Pickering reluctantly called and then mucked when he was shown the {A-Clubs}?{2-Clubs}?{3-Diamonds}?{9-Hearts} by Watson.

Hand #43: Watson raised from the button and received the blinds.

Hand #44: Watson raised to 12,500 and all three opponents called to see the flop of {4-Diamonds}?{7-Hearts}?{6-Hearts}. Higgs bet 20,000 and Duhamel folded, Pickering moved all in for 23,000. Both Watson and Higgs called that and the {5-Hearts} appeared on the turn. Watson checked to Higgs and got out of the way once the chip leader bet 80,000.

Pickering: {K-Diamonds}?{K-Clubs}?{6-Diamonds}?{2-Spades}
Higgs: {A-Hearts}?{K-Hearts}?{K-Spades}?{7-Clubs}

Pickering was already drawing dead and shook hands with everyone before the {Q-Hearts} fell on the river. The Australian receives AU$ 36,449 for his efforts and we are down to the last three players.

Jeff Rossiter Eliminated in 5th Place (AU$27,011)

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Jeff Rossiter - 5th Place
Jeff Rossiter - 5th Place

Hand #36: Mike Watson raised to 12,500 from the cutoff and Jonathan Duhamel defended from the big blind, which brought about a flop of {q-Spades}{a-Spades}{2-Hearts}. Watson then called a bet of 20,000 from Duhamel on the {Q-Hearts} turn before both players returned to checking on the {3-Clubs} river. Duhamel showed the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, but it was no good as Watson held the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

Hand #37: Watson opened for 12,500 under the gun and took down the blinds.

Hand #38: Duhamel raised to 17,500 from the button, Watson called from the big blind, and the flop fell {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Watson led out for 40,000 and then called when Duhamel moved all in for just 3,500 more.

Watson: {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Duhamel: {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}

Both players had flopped a straight, but Duhamel's was best. Neither the {A-Clubs} turn nor {5-Clubs} river changed a thing and Duhamel scored the double.

Hand #39: Jeff Rossiter got his last 45,000 all in preflop and found himself trailing behind Watson.

Rossiter: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Watson: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The {a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop did little for Rossiter, and the {K-Diamonds} turn actually left him drawing dead as Watson spiked a set. The meaningless {4-Diamonds} was run out on the river for good measure, and then Rossiter took his leave in fifth place for AU$27,011.

Hands #30-35: Rossiter Doubles Through Watson

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Hand #30: It was a limped pot preflop between Sam Higgs and Jeff Rossiter. On the {9-Spades}?{8-Hearts}?{K-Hearts} flop, Rossiter bet 10,000 and won the pot.

Hand #31: Mike Watson raised to 12,500 chips and won the pot.

Hand #32: Higgs limped from the cutoff, Jonathan Duhamel called in the small blind and Jamie Pickering checked from the big blind. The {A-Clubs}?{J-Spades}?{Q-Clubs} flop got checked through, Higgs bet 10,000 on the {J-Diamonds} turn. Duhamel check-called and then gave up the {5-Spades} river when Higgs made it 25,000 to go.

Hand #33: Rossiter raised to 17,500 and Watson called out of the big blind to see the flop of {8-Spades}?{8-Diamonds}?{3-Diamonds}. Watson bet 10,000 to put Rossiter all in and the latter called off.

Rossiter: {K-Diamonds}?{Q-Spades}?{J-Hearts}?{5-Hearts}
Watson: {5-Spades}?{5-Diamonds}?{6-Spades}?{4-Hearts}

The {K-Hearts} on the turn helped Rossiter and he stayed ahead on the {4-Diamonds} river as well to stay alive.

Hand #34: There was a four-way limped pot to the {J-Hearts}?{A-Clubs}?{6-Diamonds} flop and Duhamel bet 15,000 from the button to take down the pot.

Hand #35: Watson raised to 12,500 from the button and Higgs called one seat over. They checked the {J-Hearts}?{4-Diamonds}?{4-Hearts} flop and the {Q-Spades} turn. No action on the {9-Clubs} either and Watson won the pot with {J-Spades}?{9-Spades}?{X-}?{X-} versus {A-Spades}?{J-Clubs}?{X-}?{X-}.

Hands #25-#29: Two Doubles for Pickering

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Hand #25: Jeff Rossiter received a walk in the big blind.

Hand #26: Mike Watson raised to 12,500 from the button, Jonathan Duhamel called from the big blind, and the flop fell {6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Duhamel checked and then folded to a bet of 15,000.

Hand #27: Duhamel limped from the small blind, Jamie Pickering checked his option from the big blind, and then both players checked the {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop. When the {3-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, Duhamel bet 10,000 and then called when Pickering moved all in for just 6,000 more.

Duhamel: {q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Pickering: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}

Pickering held a full house and was guaranteed the double. The meaningless {10-Diamonds} was put out on the river to make it official.

Hand #28: Sam Higgs opened for 12,000 under the gun and Watson defended from the big blind. Both players checked the {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop, the {Q-Hearts} appeared on the turn, and Watson bet 16,000. Higgs called and then both players returned to checking on the {a-Hearts} river. Higgs flashed the {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{x-}{x-} for queens with a missed flush draw, and then Watson showed the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for the win.

Hand #29: Pickering raised to 15,500 from the button, Higgs called from the big blind, and the flop came down {4-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Higgs led out for pot and Pickering called off for 24,000.

Pickering: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}
Higgs: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Pickering held top set and was shipped the double after the {2-Spades} was put out on the turn followed by the {10-Clubs} on the river.

hands #18-24: Three Walks in a Row

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Hand #18: Sam Higgs limped from under the gun, Jamie Pickering called in the small blind and Mike Watson checked his big blind. The three of them saw the flop of {6-Diamonds}?{A-Hearts}?{4-Spades} and Higgs bet 15,000. Pickering folded and Watson check-called to see the {Q-Clubs} on the turn. Both active players checked and Higgs took it down with a bet of 30,000 after the {6-Hearts} on the river.

Hand #19: Mike Watson took it down with a bet of 15,000 on a flop of {A-Diamonds}?{A-Hearts}?{8-Clubs} after a min-raise preflop.

Hand #20: Pickering made it 15,000 to go and all players behind him folded.

Hand #21: Jonathan Duhamel got a walk in the big blind.

Hand #22: Pickering received a walk.

Hand #23: Watson also got a walk.

Hand #24: Pickering limped from the button, Watson called out of the small blind and Higgs checked the big blind. On the {4-Diamonds}?{3-Diamonds}?{K-Diamonds} flop all three players checked, Watson bet the {5-Diamonds} on the turn for 7,500. Higgs called and Pickering folded.

The {K-Spades} river completed the board and now Watson fired 17,500. Higgs reluctantly called and then mucked when shown {A-Hearts}?{Q-Diamonds}?{6-Diamonds} {8-Clubs}.

Hands #9-17: Higgs Continues to Build; Pickering & Rossiter Short

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Hand #9: Jamie Pickering raised to 12,000 and then folded when Mike Watson three-bet to 40,000 from the small blind.

Hand #10: Sam Higgs limped from the small blind, Jeff Rossiter checked his option from the big, and the two saw a flop of {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}. Higgs bet 5,000, Rossiter called, and then both players checked the {2-Hearts} turn as well as the {A-Diamonds} river. Higgs showed the {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, and it was good as Rossiter mucked.

Hand #11: Watson raised to 10,000 from the cutoff, Jonathan Duhamel defended from the big blind, and then both players checked the {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop. When the {A-Hearts} appeared on the turn, Duhamel bet 15,000 and Watson folded.

Hand #12: Rossiter raised to 14,000 from the button and won the pot.

Hand #13: Roossiter raised to 14,000 from the cutoff and won the blinds.

Hand #14: Pickering limped from the button, Watson did the same from the small blind, and then Higgs exercised his option with a raise to 16,000 from the big. Only Pickering called, but he folded to a bet on the {q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop.

Hand #15: Watson raised to 10,000 from the button and both blinds folded.

Hand #16: Watson raised to 10,000 from the cutoff, Duhamel called from the big blind, and it was heads-up action to the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop. Duhamel check-called a bet of 15,000, both players checked the {3-Spades} turn, and the {6-Spades} completed the board on the river. Both players checked once again and Watson tabled the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} for two pair and the win.

Hand #17: Higgs limped from the cutoff, Rossiter did the same from the button, and Duhamel put in 2,000 more from the small blind. Pickering checked his option from the big and four players saw a flop of {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Two checks saw Higgs bet 16,000, only Rossiter called, and the {K-Hearts} peeled off on the turn. Higgs bet the pot again for 48,000, but this time Rossiter gave it up.

Hands #4-8: Watson Stays Aggressive

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Hand #4: The action folded to Mike Watson and he limped in from the button, Sam Higgs checked as single big blind. On the {5-Clubs}?{2-Clubs}?{8-Hearts} flop, Higgs check-called a continuation bet for 6,000 and then check-folded the {A-Spades} on the turn when Watson followed up with another bet of 16,000.

Hand #5: Jonathan Duhamel made it 10,000 to go from under the gun and Watson called to see the {2-Diamonds}?{10-Spades}?{7-Spades} flop. Duhamel checked and Watson took it down with a bet of 16,000.

Hand #6: Higgs raised to 10,000 from the button and won the blinds.

Hand #7: Unknown action.

Hand #8: Higgs limped in, so did Duhamel on the button and Jamie Pickering from the small blind. Watson checked his option in the big blind and the four players also checked the {3-Diamonds}?{8-Diamonds}?{8-Spades} flop. On the {6-Hearts} turn, Pickering bet 14,500 and only Duhamel called to see the {Q-Hearts} on the river. Pickering checked and then folded to the bet of 25,000 by Duhamel.

Ismael Bojang Eliminated in 6th Place (AU$21,123)

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Ismael Bojang - 6th Place
Ismael Bojang - 6th Place

Hand #1: Sam Higgs opened for 10,000 from the cutoff and Jonathan Duhamel called from the small blind. The flop came down {9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Duhamel check-folded to a bet of 15,000.

Hand #2: Ismael Bojang limped under the gun, Jamie Pickering did the same from the small blind, and Mike Watson checked his option from the big. Two checks on the {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop saw Bojang bet 8,500, and it did the trick as both Pickering and Watson folded.

Hand #3: Action folded to Watson in the small blind and he raised to 12,000. Bojang responded by three-betting the size of the pot, Watson four-bet, and Bojang got all in for roughly 55,000 total.

Watson: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Bojang: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

The {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop was dry as could be for Bojang, but the {7-Spades} turn gave him both straight and flush draws. Unfortunately for the German, he'd miss as the {4-Diamonds} bricked on the river. Bojang exited in sixth place and takes home AU$21,123 for his performance. This marked Bojang's 11th cash in the WSOP for 2014.
