Kenneth Wigfield is the winner of Event #2 $170 No Limit Hold em Bounty at Playground Poker Club's World Cup of Cards. He won CAD $3,766 and earned CAD $100 for each knockout.

He outlasted Sebastien Poirier, who finished in second place, when the two got all in preflop. Wigfield held {k-}{5-} against the {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} of Poirier. The board didn't bring a pair for either player and Wigfield won the pot and tournament with king high.

"This is the first time I've been here," Wigfield said, "It's like poker paradise."

Wigfield earned 14 bounties on his way to a victory. He almost won the tournament a couple hands before when Poirier went runner, runner to a flush. Wigfield and Poirier both thought the tournament was over and that Wigfield won the hand with trip fives after flopping a pair and a straight draw. After a moment, Poirier realized he had the {2-Diamonds}, which was good enough to make a flush and win the pot. In the end, it only delayed the inevitable and Wigfield went on to win a few hands later.

Event #2 drew 316 entries on only the second day of the World Cup of Cards (WCOC). There are still 26 events remaining, as the WCOC has just begun. Follow the action all month long on pokernews.com.

After a fantastic back-and-forth battle with an all-in situation almost every hand resulting in the chip lead changing hands every few pots, Kenneth Wigfield finally sealed the deal.

In the final hand, Sebastien Poirier open-shoved all-in and Wigfield snap-called.

Poirier: {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Wigfield: {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The dealer patted the table one last time rolling out a board of {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Wigfield's king-high was best earning him the win.

Poirier collected $2,300 for his runner-up finish while Wigfield will take home $3,766. Wigfield also captured 14 bounties on his route to victory adding $1,400 to his score.

A monster pot between the chip leaders left Yan Nadeau crippled. In the hand before he busted, Nadeau had {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} on a {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{a-Spades} board making a jack-high flush but his all-in opponent, Sebastien Poirier tabled {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for the second-nut flush.

Nadeau was eliminated on the next hand.

A short-stacked Derek Hinchliffe shoved all-in preflop and was called by chip leader Yan Nadeau.

Nadeau: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Hinchliffe: {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Hinchcliffe was awarded $620 for his efforts.
