Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Matthew Bray
Matthew Bray

Jeff Banghart raised to 250,000 in the small blind and Matthew Bray announced all in from the big. Banghart snap-called and table {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, which left Bray in disbelief as he turned over {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Banghart had Bray slightly covered, about 2 million to 1.9 million.

The players have now paused the clock to discuss a possible deal.

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Ricky Green raised to 160,000 in the cutoff and Jeff Banghart three-bet to 450,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Green made the call. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and both players checked to the {q-Clubs} on the turn.

Green led out for 500,000 and Banghart took a moment before calling. The {2-Hearts} completed the board and Green shipped all in, forcing an instant fold from Banghart.

Bozkurt Doubles Through Green

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Ekrem Bozkurt limped the button and called a raise to 200,000 from small blind Ricky Green. The flop came {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Green bet 200,000 more. Bozkurt called. On the {a-Diamonds} turn, Green checked. Bozkurt bet 400,000 and Green quickly called. On the {3-Spades} river, Green checked and Bozkurt jammed. It was 1,325,000.

After thinking about a minute, Green called. Bozkurt showed {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for aces full, and Green sighed and showed {a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Pengelly Starting to Pull Away

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante

Jeff Banghart raised to 180,000 from early position and Will Pengelly three-bet to 550,000 on the button. The action was back on Banghart who made the call. The flop fell {10-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} and Banghart check-folded to a bet of 450,000 from Pengelly.

A couple of hands later, Matthew Bray opened to 185,000 from under the gun and Pengelly re-raised to 550,000 again on his left. It folded back to Bray who eventually let his hand go as well. Pengelly let the table know he had pocket aces as he dragged in another pot.

Alan Cummins Eliminated in 7th Place ($58,580)

Level 28 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Alan Cummins
Alan Cummins

Jeff Banghart opened for 180,000 in the cutoff and called immediately when Alan Cummins shoved in the big blind for about 1 million.

Jeff Banghart: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Alan Cummins: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

"There's worse spots to be in," Banghart said with a shrug.

The {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} was favorable for him, but the {a-Diamonds} turn was two pair that he didn't really want as Cummins grabbed an extra out. The river was the {k-Diamonds}, not enough for Cummins, and he headed to the rail for a seventh-place payout.

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
Johnny Deas
Johnny Deas

Jeff Banghart opened to 125,000 from early position and Will Pengelly three-bet to 350,000 in the cutoff. Johnny Deas called on the button and Banghart came along as well.

The flop fell {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and Banghart checked to Pengelly who continued for 350,000. Pengelly couldn't even get the words out of his mouth before Deas announced all in for around 1,400,000. Banghart folded and Pengelly snap-called.

Pengelly turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a set of jacks and Deas was drawing extremely thing with {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. The {k-Clubs} on the turn left Deas drawing dead to the {a-Hearts} on the river. Just like that, the early chipleader on the day was ousted after a couple of hands.

Pengelly Doubles Through Deas

Level 27 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Johnny Deas opened for 125,000 under the gun and called the shove of Will Pengelly, who had 1,260,000 in the big blind.

Johnny Deas: {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}
Will Pengelly: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}

The {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop brought hefty outage for Pengelly and the {q-Clubs} turn improved his outs further as the board pairing would now do it for him. The river: {a-Spades}, giving Pengelly the double.

"If we missed another straight flush draw...," Pengelly said.

He did miss the draw but the ace was enough this time, so the tournament rolls on eight-handed.
