Day 2 of the Winamax Poker Open's much-anticipated €500 Main Event, here in Bratislava, is set to get underway at noon local time.

Across four starting flights, over three days, a total of 1,516 players made their way through the doors of the Banco Casino, generating a prize pool of €667,040. All 252 survivors to progress to Day 2 have secured a minimum cash of €1,000, but the attention of the room will certainly be placed on the first-place prize of €90,000.

Coming into Day 2 with the overall chip lead is Ludovic Palain with a total of 1,369,000; Palain amassed his monster stack by the conclusion of Day 1b, having burst the bubble in the process.

With France dominating eight of the top ten stacks, Palain is followed by fellow countrymen Robin Gerard and Nicolas Malbrec who accumulated stacks of 1,133,000 and 1,080,000 respectively.

Play will recommence with one minute left on Level 19; the blinds will be 3,000/7,000 with a 7,000 big blind ante. The remaining players will benefit from a slightly longer clock of 35 minutes.

But it’s not just poker that the players can sink their teeth into; today's schedule also boats the infamous Blind Test at 9 p.m., as well as the ever popular €10 buy-in Deglingo happening at midnight.
