Hands #49-53: Riess and Katz Clash With the Same Hands

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Hand #49: Jake Schindler made it 100,000 with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Ryan Riess, seated on the button, eyed his stack before flatting with {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Cary Katz squeezed to 350,000, holding {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} in the small blind. Schindler folded and Riess asked Katz about how much did he have left. It was about 800,000 and Riess let it go.

Hand #50: Small blind Ben Tollerene completed with {10-Spades}{8-Clubs} but Schindler had no intention of letting him see the flop for cheap as he had {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} in the small blind. He raised it up to 140,000 but Tollerene called anyway.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{A-Hearts} and Schindler checked his kings back to let the {J-Diamonds} appear on the turn. Tollerene now had an up-and-down straight draw but he tapped again. Schindler also checked and the {9-Hearts} hit the river. Tollerene checked one more time and Schindler finally went for value, betting 200,000. Tollerene had no other plan than folding.

Hand #51: Katz opened to 100,000 with {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and Riess peeled the exact same hand in the small blind, provided in the {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} colours. He flatted and they carried on to the {8-Spades}{A-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop. Katz checked behind and they both caught top two on the {J-Diamonds} turn.

Riess wasted no time, leading 275,000. Katz took the full length of the allotted 30 seconds before verbally announcing "six-fifty". Riess moved all-in and Katz called right away. They learned that there was no drama coming to the {K-Hearts} river as the pot has already been chopped.

Hand #52: Schindler opened the button to 100,000 and Katz defended his big blind. The black {7-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{4-Spades} missed Katz who had {Q-Hearts}{3-Hearts} but he could be happy avoiding hearts as Schindler held {K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Schindler took it down with a c-bet.

Hand #53: Riess raised to 100,000 with {10-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Tollerene called with {J-Hearts}{3-Hearts} in the big blind. The {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds} brought a quick check-bet-fold line as Riess claimed the pot with a continuation bet.
