Vitch Breaks the Winning Nine-Eight, Drops to a Micro Stack

Level 19

2-7 Triple Draw

Isaac Haxton raised from the button and Chris Vitch defended his big blind. Vitch drew two and hit {9-}{8-}{6-}{4-}{2-} right away. Haxton had eight-high with a pair and drew a pair again. He bet in position and Vitch called.

Vitch decided to break his nine-high and drew an ace. Haxton, meanwhile, improved to ten-high and bet once again. Vitch called in hope to draw a seven, five or a three but he paired his fours to end with {8-}{6-}{4-}{4-}{2-}. Haxton stood pat with {10-}{8-}{7-}{5-}{3-} and checked back, winning the pot. Vitch was left with just 315,000 and he's now in a desperate need of a double up.

Haxton Pots the Turn

Level 18

PLO

Stephen Chidwick opened with the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Isaac Haxton flatted in the big blind with the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

A juicy {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop fanned out and Chidwick continued with a bet of 245,000. Haxton burned a time-extension and check-raised to 610,000. Chidwick called bringing the {4-Diamonds} on the turn.

Haxton led with a pot-bet totaling 1,470,000 and Chidwick quickly mucked.

Chidwick Goes from the Bottom to the Top

Level 18

PLO

Stephen Chidwick was down to fewer than three big bets just a few moments ago but a streak of winning hands allowed him vault all the way to the top spot. He recently snatched the lead from Isaac Haxton after beating him in a hand of PLO.

Chidwick raised the button with {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Haxton defended his big blind with {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}. The flop fell {4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Chidwick was still in front with his overpair but Haxton had a flush draw along with a pair of sevens. Both players checked to let the {9-Diamonds} turn appear for free.

Haxton hit top two and led out with a pot-sized bet, making it 245,000. Chidwick studied the situation for a moment and called.

The {2-Hearts} river missed Haxton's flush draw, and, more importantly, gave Chidwick better two pair. Both players checked and Haxton announced his nine-seven. Chidwick showed him the tens and Haxton nodded, realizing he was defeated.

Chidwick Flips Spots With Vitch

Level 18

Stud 8

Stephen Chidwick: {10-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}/{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Spades}/{j-Clubs}
Chris Vitch: {j-Spades}{2-Spades}/{j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}/{a-Hearts}

Stephen Chidwick was the bring in and called a complete from Chris Vitch. Chidwick led on fourth street and Vitch made the call. Fifth street brought a similar story with another bet and call after both hit a queen.

Chidwick fired again when he made trip tens and Vitch called with his two pair. Chidwick fired one last bet on seventh street and Vitch paid him off.

Chidwick Scoops Vitch to Double Up

Level 18

Stud 8

Chris Vitch: {7-Spades}{2-Hearts} / {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{5-Spades} / {7-Diamonds}
Stephen Chidwick: {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} / {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} / {A-Clubs}

Chris Vitch was the bring-in and he called after Stephen Chidwick completed. Both players had an eight out and both got a low card on fourth street. Chidwick bet and Vitch called before both drew a high card on fifth which went check-check.

Sixth street gave both players the eight-seven-five low with Chidwick having the better one. Vitch checked and called Chidwick's bet.

The river paired both players' hole cards as Vitch spiked a pair of sevens, leading to the pot. Chidwick, however, had aces and raised it up for the rest of his chips. Vitch called only to learn he was scooped, doubling Chidwick.

Chidwick Doubles Through Vitch

Level 18

Limit Hold'em

Stephen Chidwick opened with the {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and four-bet jammed after Chris Vitch three-bet holding the {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Vitch called to put Chidwick at risk.

The board ran out {3-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Spades} and Chidwick spiked a king on the turn to stay alive and double through the chipleader.

Vitch Cracks Chidwick's Kings After Flopping Trips

Level 18

Limit Hold'em

Chris Vitch raised the button with {10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and Ike Haxton called with {Q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. Stephen Chidwick peeled {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} in the big blind. He three-bet and both of his opponents accepted the price, taking a shot at the flop.

The {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} brought trouble for Chidwick as Vitch suddenly had him beat. Chidwick continued and Vitch just called, inviting Haxton to pay one more bet as well.

All three players went to the {5-Diamonds} turn where Chidwick barreled. Vitch raised this time, forcing out Haxton but Chidwick matched the bid. The river was the {9-Spades} and Chidwick checked to Vitch who put in the final bet. Chidwick knew he had to call but the expression on his face was clear; he suspected the problems and the feeling was, unfortunately for him, correct.

Haxton Takes Vitch to Valuetown

Level 18

Limit Hold'em

Chris Vitch opened from the small blind with the {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Isaac Haxton defended his big blind with the {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. The flop fanned out {3-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Bitch check-called a bet from Haxton.

The {6-Hearts} hot the turn and Vitch once again check-called a bet from Haxton. Haxton made a straight on the river with the {8-Hearts} and Vitch made a pair.

Haxton got paid off one more time and Vitch mucked when he saw the bad news.
