MSPT Venetian $1,100 Main Event Kicks off Labor Day Weekend
As thousands of people descend into the Las Vegas desert for Labor Day weekend, the MSPT makes a return to The Venetian poker room for its fall version of the $1,100 Main Event. There is a boisterous guaranteed prizepool of $500,000 up for grabs but there should be no issue of reaching that as the spring version of this event nearly reached the seven-figure mark.
It was Ron West who captured the title back in February for a whopping $168,488 after defeating Johnnie "Vibes" Moreno in a heads-up battle. West out-lasted a field of 1,027 entrants en route to the championship and the field size is expected to be very similar this weekend.
There will be two starting flights taking place over the weekend (September 3rd and 4th) with a winner being determined on Day 2 (September 5th). Day 1a will kick off at 11:10 a.m. local time inside The Venetian poker room. Players will play down until just 11% of the field remains, all of which will return on Day 2 and be considered in the money.
A starting stack for this event will be worth 25,000 chips and late registration will remain open until the start of level 10. An unlimited number of re-entries will be allowed but players may only bag one stack. The levels will be 40 minutes in length throughout the tournament with a 15-minute break after every three levels.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the live updates throughout the event en route to crowning another MSPT champion.
