Welcome To Day 1b of the MSPT Riverside $1,100 Main Event
The Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) continues Saturday with its second and final starting flight of the MSPT Riverside $1,100 Main Event from the lush lands of Riverside, Iowa.
Another strong showing is expected after Friday's Day 1a saw a turnout of 408, exceeding the $200K guarantee by the time the tournament even began. Today, the chances of exceeding March's inaugural turnout of 862 looks to be all but certain, and all hopefuls will be chasing after Peter Schmall's massive Day 1a chip lead of 584,000.
Players will start with 25,000 and blinds at 100/100 with a big-blind ante in play from the beginning. Levels will increase every 40 minutes with 10-minute breaks at the completion of every three levels. Late registration will remain open until the beginning of Level 13 at approximately 11:40 p.m. local time, with players having the option for one re-entry in the flight.
Cards fly at 3 p.m. local time in the Riverside Casino Event Center with 15 full levels on the docket unless 12% of the field is reached prior, and per usual, the PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to bring you the haps from start to finish.
