While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the $1,100 Main Event, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about some of the side events that have taken place out over the past week for the Showdown Series here at Running Aces Casino.

In Event #1: $360 NLHE Mystery Bounty, 1,197 entries were logged through three starting flights and created a $356,100 prize pool that was paid out to the top 129 players.

Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were MSPT Hall of Famer's Rob Wazwaz (11th - $3,350) & Aaron Johnson (47th - $709), DJ Buckley (60th - $638), Tom Hammers (98th - $519), and David Gonia (122nd - $423).

In the end, it was Minnesota's Beile Li who collected every chip in play to capture the MSPT Trophy, along with a $25,588 payday.

Barnum Drops MSPT Hall of Famer Bohn

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Justin Barnum
Justin Barnum

Justin Barnum raised to 18,000 from middle position and then called the 79,000 three-bet jam MSPT Hall of Famer Blake Bohn made from the button.

Blake Bohn: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Justin Barnum: {k-}{q-}

Bohn was ahead until the {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop hit the felt pairing Barnum's king.

The {4-Spades} turn was no help to Bohn as he needed an ace to stay alive, but the {5-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and ended his Main Event run.

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Zach Gutierrez
Zach Gutierrez

A series of preflop raises saw Zach Gutierrez call off his 324,000 stack from late position after Rocky Wylie jammed for more from middle position.

Zach Gutierrez: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Rocky Wylie: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Gutierrez didn't like what he saw and stood up getting ready to take his exit until a pretty lady appeared in the window on the {6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop.

The {4-Spades} turn didn't change a thing and the {8-Diamonds} river secured Gutierrez his double-up.
