Veith Catches Liss on the River

Level 4 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

As the following hand was starting, the table proclaimed Greg Liss, "Today's Dan," referencing Dan Bekavac's amazing day yesterday. Liss had already built a stack of around 100,000.

Edward Veith opened to 1,400 and found three callers, including Greg Liss in the cutoff.

The flop came out monotone with the {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Veith continued for 5,000, Liss made the call, while the other two players got out of the way.

The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and both players checked.

When the {3-Hearts} hit the river, Veith checked again. Veith promptly threw out 15,000.

"If you got it, you got it," said Veith as he made the call.

"I don't," replied Veith.

Veith showed {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for the over pair and the winner.

"He caught me," said Liss. He still has a very healthy stack, but a lot of work to do to match the 1,183,000 that Bekavac bagged yesterday.
