While PokerNews is here offering live updates from the $1,100 Main Event, we’d be remiss if we didn’t tell you about some of the side events that have taken place out over the past week at the Winter Poker Classic.

In Event #3: $250 NLH Sunday Feast, 228 runners created a $45,600 that was paid out to the top 24 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Alex Wheeler (20th - $506), Cory Nordstrand (17th - $616), Vic Peppe (13th - $684), Paul Carney (12th - $821), and Jose Gavin-Garcia (10th - $821).

In the end, it was Minnesota native Steve Shank who collected every chip in play to capture the WPC trophy, along with first-place $6,845 payday.
