Chris Nelson Leads 71 Survivors After Day 1c of MSPT Canterbury Park $1,100 Main Event
Day 1c of the Mid-States Poker Tour (MSPT) Canterbury Park $1,100 Main Event attracted 477 runners, which along with 1s�� 241 and 1b��s 324 brought the total field up to 1,042 entries.
The massive field generated a 1,009,240 prize pool that and the top 108 players will get paid a minimum of $2,119, while the eventual winner will walk away with a $186,709 first-place prize.
At the end of the third and final flight, 71 players bagged and tagged with Minnesota native Chris Nelson and his stack of 417,000 leading the way.
Others to bag big stacks where Aaron Frommgen (424,000), Todd Fisher (386,000), Chris Orvis (345,000), and MSPT Hall of Famer Blake Bohn (336,000), who round out the top five.
They were joined by WSOP bracelet winner Ron McMillen (301,000), MSPT Black Hawk Main Event champ Steve Wilkie (287,000), Kyna England (285,000), MSPT Majestic Star Main Event champ John Sun (255,000), and Sarah Stefan (226,000).
Among those to see their night end on Day 1c were MSPT Hall of Famer's Aaron Johnson, Jason Seitz and Rich Alsup, two-time Minnesota Magazine Player of the Year Saad Ghanem, and local players Tom Stambaugh, Mike Lovelace, and Todd Melander.
The surviving players from all three flights �C of which there are 108 (28 from Day 1a, 45 from 1b, and 71 from 1c) �C will return at 11 a.m. local time on Sunday, December 12th to play down to a winner.
