Hand #1: Satoshi Tanaka opened on the button to 350,000 and Martin Zamani announced a re-shove all in. Tanaka asked how much and Zamani said about 4.3 million, a figure close to Tanaka's. Tanaka wasted no further time calling.

Diamonds ran amok as the board came {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to give Zamani the pot, leaving Tanaka drawing dead on the turn. Zamani's stack was totaled to be 4.505 million, just shy of Tanaka's to leave him on fumes.

"Good game, dude," said Zamani jovially. Tanaka received it equally well and the table congratulated him on a hard-fought fifth-place finish. With his elimination, the tournament director just told the four remaining players that the ante value will be switched to that of a small blind for short-handed play through the duration of the tournament.
