Hayes Wins Huge Pot With Flop Bet, Takes Chip Lead
Level 29
: 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
John Hayes has been playing back at Marius Toderici as their stacks have evened out. After this hand Hayes would be the chip leader and Toderici would be in third place, just behind John Kurfman.
Toderici raised preflop from the small blind to 240,000. That has been his standard raise from the blinds at this level. Hayes reraised to 560,000 and, after some deliberation, Toderici called.
The flop came and Toderici checked. Hayes bet 345,000 and sent Toderici to the tank. He held his cards in his hands, looking as though any nudge would send them flying into the muck. Eventually, Toderici folded the hand and Hayes claimed the chip lead.
All three stacks are now pretty even.
