Bohn Talks Sawaqdeh Into a Call

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Blake Bohn
Blake Bohn

Jamal Sawaqdeh bet 13,000 on a {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop from the cutoff, and Blake Bohn raised to 28,000 on the button. Sawaqdeh called, check-calling another 20,000 on the {9-Spades}. He then came out betting with 20,000 of his own on the {a-Clubs} river, but Bohn snap-shoved for 79,500 more.

As Sawaqdeh thought, Bohn made the unusual move of asking the dealer to spread the pot when he wasn't the one to act.

"You're not calling," Bohn said. "Let's get going, we've got blinds."

"Or, you could be a hero," he added. "Bust this guy from Minnesota who comes down and tries to win your tournaments."

After another couple of minutes Sawaqdeh pushed forward calling chips, mucking when Bohn showed {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} for a boat.

Aces Station

Level 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

We found Ian Schwartz pushing all in for about 100,000 after an opponent bet roughly 70,000 on an {8-}{4-}{2-} flop. Schwartz was called and he showed {a-}{a-} to top his opponent's {k-}{k-}. The very next hand, Schwartz picked up {a-}{a-} again and busted a player holding {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} all in preflop.

Bingel Done; Luong Holds With Kings

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Matt Bingel
Matt Bingel

Matt Bingel came into the day with high hopes and a big stack, but he was down to just over one big blind after running his {a-}{q-} into the {a-}{k-} of nemesis Gene Gioia, who again held unimproved. He busted the next hand.

At another table, Phillip Luong three-bet to 27,000 over a button open and saw the big blind jam for about 60,000. Luong called with {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and held against {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} to bust his neighbor.

Bingel Sliding, Doubles Up Gioia

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Gene Gioia
Gene Gioia

Matt Bingel opened for 10,000 in early position and then called the 52,500 shove of Gene Gioia in middle position.

Bingel: {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Gioia: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Gioia's king-high held unimproved on the {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} run out. Bingel was one of the top stacks after ending as the Day 1a chip leader, but he's lost about a third of his stack in the early going.

Devonshire Bluffs Off a Chunk

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Bryan Devonshire opened to 8,500 in the hijack and got calls from the cutoff and big blind. Action checked to the cutoff on the {10-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, and he bet 15,000. Only Devonshire called, and the {4-Hearts} got checked through. Devonshire dropped in approximately 30,000 on the {5-Spades} river and got snap-called, spinning his cards into the muck when he was shown {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.
