Welcome to the Main Event!
For the past week, poker players have flocked to the Seneca Niagara Poker Room for the first six events of the 2015 Western New York Poker Challenge. Today, the action moves up to the balcony of the Seneca Niagara Casino & Resort with the first starting flight of the flagship $1,000 Main Event, which boasts a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool.
The Main Event is a two-day tournament (potentially three days) with registration and unlimited re-entries available for the first nine levels on Day 1a and Day 1b. Players will begin with 30,000 in chips with 45-minute blind levels on the first day, with the eventual champion being crowned on Sunday or Monday, time permitting. Last year, Nick Walker took down the Western New York Poker Challenge Main Event for more than $37,000 after a three-way deal with Kyle Gay and Andre Smith.
We're expecting to see Walker return to defend his title this week, as well as many of the best poker players in the Niagara Falls region. Play kicks off at 11 a.m. and we will be here providing all of the latest from the tournament floor. Be sure to stay tuned as this exciting event begins!
