Pfeifer Doubles With Aces

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Before the new level began, Rick Block opened to 33,000 from the cutoff and Joseph Elia called on the button. Randy Pfeifer re-popped it to 75,000 from the big blind, and only Block called.

Flop: {2-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Pfeifer bet 58,000 and Block called.

Turn: {10-Spades}

Pfiefer slowed down with a check, and Block moved all in. Pfeifer called immediately for his last 116,000.

Block: {6-Spades}{5-Spades}

Pfiefer: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}

The {A-Clubs} gave Pfeifer a meaningless set on the river, doubling his stack to 800,000

Jason Nablo Eliminated in 5th Place ($3,352)

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 1,000 ante

Jason Nablo made another deep run today but wasn't able to close the deal.

Rick Block opened to 25,000 from the cutoff, and Mike Azzinaro (small blind) and Nablo (big blind) called to see a {Q-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop. Azinarro checked, Nablo moved all in for around 140,000, Block folded, and Azzinaro called.

Nablo: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Azzinaro: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

It was the worst outcome Nablo could have hoped for, but he still had pair outs for the win. Unfortunately for him, the {J-Hearts} hit the river to give Azzinaro the nut flush. Nablo has made final tables in each of the first two WNYPC events, and he'll try for a third tomorrow.

Scott Gaddi Eliminated in 6th Place ($2,490)

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Scott Gaddi moved all in for his last 50,000 from late position, and action folded over to Joseph Elia who asked for a count before calling.

Gaddi: {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Elia : {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Elia hoped to be drawing live, but as it turned out he didn't need it. The {5-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} board gave Elia two pair on the river, and Gaddi shook hands with his former tablemates before exiting the room.

Mark Roberts Eliminated in 7th Place ($2,011)

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The action is moving quickly here. Mark Roberts was all-in for his last 125,000 with ace-queen and Rick Block called with pocket sevens. The nine-high board provided no help for Roberts and he picked up more than $2K for his day of work.

Block, meanwhile, has more than half the chips in play with six remaining.

Long Nguyen Eliminated in 8th Place ($1,628)

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Long Nguyen raised to 21,000 from middle position, Rick Block called from directly behind, and Randy Pfeifer called from the big blind. Pfeifer checked the {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop, and Nguyen moved all in for 158,000. Block called behind, and Pfeifer got out of the way.

Nguyen: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}
Block: {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}

Nguyen had a lot of outs to fade, but Block drilled the {10-Spades} on the turn for his straight, and Nguyen got up from his seat as the {5-Diamonds} fell on the river.
