Someone's going to win $469,987 today — assuming it plays out without a deal — in SCOOP-43-H: $25,000 NLHE [8-Max, Super High Roller], $1.5M Gtd, and it will be one of the nine remaining finalists out of a field of 71.
Foremost among them in terms of chip counts, and not by a small margin, is Aussie sensation Michael "imluckbox" Addamo. The high roller star has seemingly been in the final mix of every huge online event over the past year or so, and a late rush in this one saw him head into the final table with 125 big blinds, well clear of second-place Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle, who has 76.
Behind Rolle is a pretty tight mix of middle stacks that nonetheless all have plenty of play ahead, especially with the 30-minute levels that came into effect late on Day 1. Wiktor "Iimitless" Malinowski, Christian "WATnlos" Rudolph, Samuel "€urop€an" Vousden, and Conor "1_conor_b_1" Beresford are all between 48 and 56 big blinds.
In more danger but still not in extreme pressure are the shorter stacks, Joao "Naza114" Vieira, Mikita "fish2013" Badziakouski and Niklas "lena900" Astedt, all between 27 and 36 big blinds.
Here's a look at the seating arrangement to start play:
