Welcome to Day 1 of the $1,050 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker Main Event

SCOOP 2023
SCOOP 2023

The 2023 PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) is nearing its conclusion as the Main Events are set to kick off today at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time. As usual, the iconic online poker series has three buy-in levels for each event to accommodate players with any bankroll. On this page, the Medium Main Event with a buy-in of $1,050 will be reported, which boasts a gigantic guaranteed prize pool of $4,000,000.

Of course, the Main Events are not the only tournaments to have taken place during SCOOP. The 107 preceding medium events saw, among others, Benny RunGodLike Glaser extend his lead in COOP titles and PokerStars Lasse "Wistern" Jagd Lauritsen capture his maiden COOP title.

The best overall performer at this buy-in level, however, has been Jerry "Perrymejsen" Odeen, who is sitting atop the SCOOP Medium leaderboard just before the Main Event commences. FAL1st, playing from Thailand, is trailing him by a mere ten points, so a deep run in the Main Event could set either player up to grab the $10,000 prize that comes with winning the Medium leaderboard.

The defending champion of the Medium Main Event is United Kingdoms paythetable101, who took home $509,837 in the 2022 edition after a four-way deal. Among those seeking to decrown them and become a SCOOP Main Event champion are PokerStars Ambassador Sebastian ''peace&loove'' Huber, Talal ''raidalot'' Shakerchi, and Christian ''WATnlos'' Rudolph, all of whom have either already qualified through one of the numerous satellites or have paid the $1,050 buy-in in order to be dealt in from the very first hand. The expectation is that many more of online pokers most prolific names will appear in the lobby throughout the day.

SCOOP 108-M: $1,050 Main Event will last four days, with 16 levels of 25 minutes being played on Day 1. All players who register will receive 100,000 chips, and play commences at 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time with the blinds at 200/400 and an ante of 50. Late registration is open until the start of Day 2, at which point the starting stack will be worth just over 16 big blinds. Those who get unlucky have up to 3 reentries available to them, so a lot of action can be expected on Day 1.

Be sure to tune in to PokerNews as there will be a live report from the very first to the very last minute of the tournament. Also check out the live reporting of the massive $109 Low Main Event, as well as the thrilling $10,300 High Main Event over at their respective pages.
