When play resumed today in the latest $2,100 Sunday Warm-Up Event on Pokerstars, it looked to be Steve "Mr. Tim Caum" O'Dwyer's title to lose, as he came into the day with a comfortable chip lead over the field. On the opposite side, Brazilian pro Joao Simao came into the day as one of the shorter stacks, and was likely hoping to just make the final table. Simao was able to double up early, and he never looked back, defeating O''Dwyer heads up to take home over $150,000. Below you will see how the final table played out.

Simao actually started the table as the short stack, but he would double up on one of the first hands of the final table, when he won a big coin flip against "m.a-0000." He would go on to double up again later with pocket queens against O'Dwyer, but without question, the biggest hand for Simao came when he cracked the pocket aces of Matt "OLD TIME GIN" Stone.

Simao and O'Dwyer were virtually even heads up, but Simao pulled away quickly, before eventually finishing O'Dwyer off in a hand where the Irishman flopped two pair, but his Brazilian foe made a full house on the river.

Congratulations to Joao Simao on his impressive victory, and thank you to everyone who tuned into the live coverage here at Pokernews!

Steve "Mr. Tim Caum" O'Dwyer Eliminated in 2nd Place ($112,819)

Level 36 : 150,000/300,000, 37,500 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Joao "INeedMassari" Simao raised to 600,000, and Steve "Mr. Tim Caum" O'Dwyer called in the big blind. It looked like the hand would be fairly tame, as both players checked the {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, and {9-Hearts} turn. However, after the {4-Clubs} hit the river, the fireworks were lit.

O'Dwyer went for an overbet of 1,911,000, but Simao wasn't backing down, as he moved all in. O'Dwyer thought for quite some time before calling with {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, but it was no good, as Simao had rivered a full house with {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}.

O'Dwyer, who led most of the day, will have to settle for second place, while the title, and over $150,000, will be going to Joao Simao! Stay tuned for a full recap to be posted shortly.

Steve "Mr. Tim Caum" O'Dwyer: {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Joao "INeedMassari" Simao: {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}

O'Dwyer was in the lead. but Simao could still catch a king or jack to win, and the {3-Hearts} on the turn meant another three would also work for him. However, the {6-Hearts} completed the board, and O'Dwyer scored the double up, though he is still well behind Simao.
