Burris Eliminated by McVicker

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Nick Burris
Nick Burris

A short-stacked Nick Burris moved all-in and found a caller in Jesse McVicker.

Nick Burris: {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Jesse McVicker: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The flop came in Burris's favor when it came {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, but the {k-Clubs} on the turn flipped the percentages in McVicker's favor. The {5-Clubs} on the river sealed Burris's fate and he headed to the cage.

Burris exited in 24th place and will take home $1,432 for his performance this weekend.

Contreras Sniffs Out the Bluff

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Derrick Contreras
Derrick Contreras

Derrick Contreras raised from middle position to 17,000 and got one call from Scott Davis on the button. The flop came {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades} and after a think, Contreras continued for 20,000. Davis called.

When the {5-Clubs} hit the turn, Contreras thought for a bit and then checked. Davis checked behind.

The {3-Spades} brought in a potential flush draw, and Contreras once again checked. Davis assembled a bet of 50,000 and pushed it across the line.

Contreras went into the tank for nearly three minutes, all the while shuffling calling chips, and finally moved them in to call.

Davis shrugged and turned over {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for no pair, prompting Contreras to reveal {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} to take the pot.
