Stewart Holds Strong Lead For The Noon Restart Of The RGPS Reno Main Event

Scott Stewart

The RunGood Poker Series has made its return to Reno and it has been a triumphant one. The $600 Main Event saw its guarantee surpassed as a total of 301 entrants hopped into the field to create a prize pool of $153,510. That starting field was reduced to just 39 players, each guaranteed $850 with all eyes on $33,540 for the eventual victor.

Leading the way is Scott Stewart who ended their day with 652,000 in their stack. Stewart is a RGPS ring winner himself, but many will know him from his long list of power accolades that include 6 WSOPC rings and $2,937,207 in lifetime earnings. Rounding out the podium are Ryan Awwad (534,000) and Greg Paradero (505,000) who each look to claim their first RGPS ring.

Others that remain in the hunt for the title include last year’s runner up Andrew Fredericks (387,000), Michael “Murph” Murphy (259,000), Coy Sanders (186,000), and Christian Cooper (137,000). Each one of them wishing to carve their name deep into the halls of The Atlantis in Reno, Nevada.

The NAPT Player of The Series race is nearing its end and all eyes seem squarely focused on four players. Matthew Betti (318,000) sits with 92 points in fourth place on the leaderboard, Jordan Cushman (119,000) sits with 86 points in fifth place, Michael P Harris (119,000) sits in seventh place with 80 points, and Derek Stark (65,000) sits in ninth place with 69. Potentially many more could take the lead overall, but these four sit highest on the leaderboard and have the best chance of overtaking the lead.

Play ended with 7:00 left in Level 14 with blinds at 4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 big blind ante. This will be the time and place that the players will begin play at 12:00 pm and continue until a winner is crowned.
