Katz Bags Chiplead in Day 1a of Main Event
After 13 levels of play, flight Day 1a of the $1,100 RunGood Main Event Baltimore has come to a close with four players advancing to Day 2 on Sunday.
Day 1a only saw 38 entries take their seats, but that number is expected to more than double for each of tomorrow��s flights b and c. Leading the way from this flight is Ari Katz with 416,000 followed by Huan Ho with 300,000, Grant Juric (259,000), and David Danlag (165,000).

Although it was a relatively short field compared to other RunGood events, there was definitely no shortage of action for this buy-in size and chips were actively being moved around the tables as players tried to build up their stacks. Some notable players that took their shot in this flight but failed to make the cut included WSOP Main Event Champ Greg Raymer, Caitlyn Arnwine, Christian Harder, and RGPS Ambassador Ben Ludlow.
One player who was actively involved throughout the day was Katz, who kept constant pressure on his opponents and was not afraid to give them a good staredown. And of course, it was Katz who wound up knocking out Ken Baime on the money bubble in 5th place when his ace-deuce cracked Baime��s pocket jacks and gave him the chip lead.
These players will return on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. where they will combine with the other surviving players from Day 1bc and will play down to a winner.
