"Farmer" Phil Mader Back on the Felt
Phil Mader, who earned the nickname "Farmer" during his deep run in the 2013 WSOP Main Event, is looking to continue adding to his impressive $875,866 in lifetime tournament earnings here this weekend, and he's no stranger to success in the RunGood Poker Series.
All three of Mader's cashes on tour have been here at Horseshoe Council Bluffs, and both were final table performances. After a fifth-place finish in 2016's $1,100 Main Event, Mader came back for more in 2017's $555 Main Event. Mader was able to navigate a tough field all the way down to the final three places, where he, along with Greg Jennings and Mark Fink, negotiated a three-way deal to lock down a $21,918 payday. He also cashed for $1,384 this past June here, taking 47th place in the series Main Event.
Can Mader push through another tough field and make a run at another RunGood Poker Series Final Table? We'll keep you updated on his progress as the day progresses.
