The $235 Black Chip Bounty event is a wrap at Run It Up IX, and Jimmy Cappucci is the champion. Cappucci took down the one-day tournament at Peppermill Resort in Reno, Nevada, taking home the first-place prize of $5,950.

The heads-up battle pitted Cappucci, the all-time wins leader in the Run It Up series with six victories coming into this tournament, against Chris Lindner, who was just two days removed from a runner-up finish in the $440 Mini Main Event here at Run It Up Reno IX. The final hand came down to Cappucci's king-ten offsuit getting the best of Lindner's king-nine suited.

“The real dream is just running really well, battling, hoping for the best, causing pain to others,” said Cappucci.

Cappucci said he won 12 or 13 $100 bounties in addition to the first-place prize money. The win is Cappucci’s seventh in Run It Up Reno events.

“The series is great. Everybody here is amazing," Cappucci said. "Even if I came here and lost every single dollar I had every time, I’d be back every single time to do it again. It’s such a great time. If you’ve never been here before, get down here. It’s just too much fun.”

Lindner scored $3,830 for his second runner-up finish of this series. Third-place finisher Deb Swift, another regular at Run It Up Reno events, took home $2,660.

The event ended up paying out a total of $58,280, with half of that going to the prize pool, and half being distributed among the $100 player bounties. The 310 entries are a record for this event in the Run It Up Reno series.

Some of the notable players coming through for the event included Run It Up founder Jason Somerville, along with Run It Up ambassadors Arlie Shaban and Ricky Guan. Other big names in the field included Matt Stout, Chris Moneymaker, Chad Holloway, Joe Stapleton and Andy Milonakis.

Of those names, only Stapleton and Milonakis made deep runs. The pair of comedians both made it into the final 10 players, with Milonakis finishing 10th for $750, and Stapelton making it to the official eight-handed final table before bowing out in seventh place ($1,100).

Next up at Run It Up Reno IX is the $175 Moneymaker Tour event, which commences at 10 a.m. Wednesday. A Platinum Pass to the 2020 PokerStars Players Championship will be on the line, as the winner of that event will win a package that will send them to Barcelona, Spain in August 2020 to play in the prestigious PSPC.
