Somerville Doubles with Top Set

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

Arriving to Jason Somerville's table, our PokerNews reporter saw a {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} board spread with Somerville holding {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} against his opponent's {7-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

With Somerville's top set holding against his opponent's straight and flush draws, Somerville is now sitting behind roughly a 29,000-chip stack as we approach the first break of the day.

Holloway Finds the Five-Deuce and Doubles

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante
Chad Holloway
Chad Holloway

With 2,725 in the middle and the flop reading {2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, Chad Holloway checked from out of the big blind over to Anna Khait who fired out a continuation-bet of 1,100.

Holloway responded with a check-raise to 3,100 only to have Khait announce she was all in. Holloway committed his final 9,775 and the cards were placed on their backs.

Holloway: {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Khait: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}

With Holloway needing to avoid an eight or queen, the {A-Spades} on the turn would see him needing to fade an additional three outs.

Fortunately for the 2013 WSOP Casino Employees Champion, the river landed the {4-Hearts} to ensure Holloway the double to over 22,000 as Khait drops to roughly 14,000 in chips.
