Welcome to Day 2 of the 2018 PCA $100,000 Super High Roller

Kevin Hart returns for Day 2 of the PCA SHR
Kevin Hart returns for Day 2 of the PCA SHR

Day 2 of the 2018 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) $100,000 Super High Roller, a tournament that dates back to 2011, gets underway in less than an hour.

Yesterday's Day 1 generated 46 entries, but registration is open until the start of play today. Cary Katz has already registered, so the total field will be at least 47 runners, which is a bit shy of last year’s 54 runners. From the Day 1 field, 33 players return with Scott Seiver and his stack of 804,000 out in front. Seiver is seeking his seeking his second PCA $100K Super High Roller title after topping a field of 59 entries to win this event back in 2013, good for $2,003,480.

"Honestly, it feels great coming in like this and doing well," said Seiver. "I was a little worried I would be rusty, this was my first big tournament in almost two years. For like a year and a half, I've been playing almost only cash games but it seems like things are going well."

Seiver currently sits third in all-time PCA $100K SHR earnings with $2,2246,760. Only Bryn Kenney and Dan Shak, who have $3,479,740 and $2,254,640 respectively, sit ahead of him. Kenney returns today with 548,000, while Shak comes in with 246,000.

Another popular figure coming back today is Hollywood star Kevin Hart, who sits with 316,000. Hart, who is currently starring in the box office hit Jumanji, is taking a break from his acting and comedy career to play a little poker. Also returning today are businessman Kevin Hobbs, WPT champ Stefan Schillhabel, and 2017 GPI Player of the Year Arian Mateos, just to name a few. Likewise, Team PokerStars Pros Daniel Negreanu (438,000), Igor Kurganov (333,000),

Someone seeking his first-ever PCA Super High Roller cash is Nick Petrangelo, who actually free rolled into the tournament. That’s because last night he won the PokerStars Championship Player of the Year invitational for exactly $100,000. Petraneglo begins today with 260,000.

The Super High Roller action will be streamed from Day 2, which gets underway at Noon local time. In addition, we’ll be live reporting all the action right here in the PokerNews Blog.
