Liddell Gets a Fold

A player opened to 1,800 from middle position and was called by the cutoff as well as James Liddell in the big blind.
Liddell checked following the 
flop and the middle position player continued for 2,000. That elicited a fold from the cutoff player but Liddell was not going anywhere just yet and made the call.
Both players checked through the 
turn to see the 
river at which point Liddell pushed 8,000 into the middle. After some thought, his opponent folded to send the pot Liddell's way.
