Brazil's Bruno "great dant" Volkmann won his third World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) title on Monday by taking down the WCOOP 63-H: $10,300 Progressive KO High Roller for $119,620 in prize money and $211,875 in bounties, adding up for a total score of $331,495. Volkmann secured the title after defeating Christian "WATnlos" Rudolph of Germany during heads-up play. For his runner-up finish, Rudolph earned a total of $203,683.

Volkmann already had two WCOOP victories to his name heading into the high roller. The Brazilian pro won the $1,050 NLHE [4-Max] in 2017 for $144,303, as well as the 2018 $2,100 NLHE [Deep Stacks] for $113,252. Rudolph was also searching for his third WCOOP title after taking down the WCOOP 24-H: $2,100 NLHE 6-Max for $71,404 last weekend.

The tournament attracted 123 entries and had a prize pool of $1.23 million, exceeding the guarantee of $1 million. PokerStars ambassadors Benjamin "bencb789" Rolle and Lex "L. Veldhuis" Veldhuis were among those in the Day 1 field but couldn't make it to Day 2 as they busted in 23rd place and 26th place, respectively. Day 1 broke after about eight hours of play with only nine players remaining. Those players returned on Day 2 to compete at the final table.

Final Table Action

Adrian "Amadi_017" Mateos was the first final table player to hit the rail after getting it in with big slick against the ace-four of Rudolph, who paired his four on the flop. Mateos was soon joined by Alexandros "Pwndidi" Theologis, who Rudolph busted after his nine-seven got there against Theologis' king-six.

"hello_totti" entered the final table eighth in chips but managed to score double-up after double-up to stay alive and in contention. The run-good for the Russian player ended when their pair of jacks ran into the eventual winner's set of eights, sending them out in fourth place for a total score of $81,446.

Sam "Str8$$$Homey" Greenwood lost most of his stack when he got into an all-in confrontation with pocket nines against the pocket aces of Volkmann. Shortly after, Greenwood was eliminated in third place for $112,483 when his top pair couldn't hold when Volkmann's turned a straight.

Heads-Up Play

Volkmann started heads-up play with a big chip advantage against Rudolph, who entered Day 2 as chip leader. The chip divide only increased when Rudolph folded on the river in a three-bet pot, leaving him just 4.7 million chips to his opponent's 26.1 million. He managed to chip up a bit until a hand where Volkmann rivered a Broadway straight.

The final hand came when Rudolph jammed on the turn with a pair of fours and Volkmann called with just ace-high. Volkmann made a pair of queens on the river and earned his third WCOOP victory.
