Final Table Recap
The WCOOP Low $55 Main Event was a massive success with 38,660 entrants generating a massive $1,933,000 prize pool to crush the $1,250,000 guarantee.
After three days of play, the final table was set with "klimono" in the lead. As we already mentioned, this player not only never let go of the lead but took all but one of their opponents in quick fashion.
Two of the shorter stacked players were the first to go with Denmark's "Jemisis" taking eighth place for $16,511 and Day 2 chip leader flying the Hungarian flag "benton24" exiting ninth place for $11,675. At this point, "klimono" held more than half the chips in play.
Japan's Akira "Clutch Hero" Ohyama, who was playing under an Indonesian flag during the event, was the only player not eliminated by "klimono". Instead, Ohyama was taken out by "Tangawi26" in seventh place for $23,351 when his ace-five didn't get there against queens.
Mexico's "vrodrguez1" (sixth - $33,023) was the last player to go before the first break when their big slick couldn't win a flip against "klimono" who held deuces.
"klimono" eliminated the remaining players in the field in quick succession. The action was heads-up after United Kingdom's "ID IMPOSS" (third - $93,403), Brazil's Paulo ''pvss'' Silva (fourth - $66,066), and Canada's "Mr.Skinny.00" all hit the rail.
"klimono" entered the heads-up 'battle' with a more than 8:1 chip advantage against "Tangawi26". The heads-up action only lasted one hand.
"Tangawi26" jammed for nearly 20 big blinds with queen-nine and didn't hit any of the board after "klimono" called with ace-five. Although "Tangawi26" didn't manage to win a prestigious WCOOP title they did collect a huge consolation prize of $132,093, representing a huge result for a $55 buy-in.
Congrats to "klimono" for entering the WCOOP history books with an impressive performance in the WCOOP Low $55 NLHE Main Event.
