On Wednesday, it was the high roller's time to shine in the 2021 New Jersey Championship of Online Poker, as Event #20: $1,000 NLHE (6-Max, High Roller) Championship Trophy Event saw twenty-four players hit the felt in search of a coveted NJCOOP Trophy. With an additional thirteen re-entries, the tournament fell short of the advertised $40,000 guarantee, with PokerStars kicking in the additional $4,850 to the prize pool.

After a speedy day of just under five hours, it was Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski who locked down his second NJCOOP title of the series and an $18,143 payday.

Tentnowski, who earned his first 2021 NJCOOP win in Event #7: $200 NLHE [8-Max, Deepstack], $25K GTD for $5,925, is an established New Jersey online crusher, and this score marks his eighth five-figure cash in the state of New Jersey according to PocketFives.com. Tentnowski overcame a tough field of grinders on a single bullet, and won a key flip in the end to lock up the big score and the hardware.

Action of the Day

A star-studded field was in attendance for the biggest buy-in on the NJCOOP docket, but it was difficult day for most of them, as WSOP Bracelet winners Ryan "hagz2richez" Hagerty and Michael "J3tBl@ckP0pe" Gagliano, along with crushers like Daniel "loxonbagel" Buzgon and Frank "thewholefunk" Funaro all fired and failed to make it to the money.

The final table saw entnowski come in with the chip lead, after eliminating Angel "Chr0meKing" Lopez in a huge pot just before the final table commenced. With the chip lead in hand, Tentnowski sat back as "Sgt. Tibbs" busted in seventh to Funaro, and Tentnowski went right for those chips a few hands later. The ace-queen of Tentnowski would hold against the ace-five of Funaro, and Tentnowski now held nearly half of the chips in play on the bubble.

After Tentnowski went on a tear of winning pot after pot with preflop aggression, "NINE9NINE9NINE" took a stand against Tentnowski with jack-ten, but couldn't best Tentnowski's ace-eight and bubbled the High Roller. From there, it was "RequalsI" who became the executioner, busting "coldandwarm" and "ROU$EY" in back-to-back hands to bring things to nearly even heads-up.

Despite the fairly deep stacks, things came down to the most classic of races a short time later, as Tentnowski got it in with ace-king against the pocket jacks of "RequalsI". A king on the turn sent all but just over a big blind to Tentnowski, and a few hands later, Tentnowski had earned his second NJCOOP title of the series.

PokerNews will return for more NJCOOP coverage on Sunday, September 19th at 5 p.m. EST for Event #34: $300 NLHE Championship Trophy Event, so be sure to tune in then!

Also on Wednesday, Naichang "cncly1314" Chen also won his second title of the series when he topped a 120-entry field to win Event #21: $150 NLHE [6-Max], $15K GTD for $3,149. A few days earlier, he had won Event #12: $150 NLHE [6-Max, Hyper-Turbo, Sunday Supersonic SE], $10K GTD for $2,815.

RequalsI eliminated in 2nd
RequalsI eliminated in 2nd

Level 22: (8,000/16,000/2,000)

Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski raised to 32,000 from the button, and "RequalsI" three-bet to 112,000 from the big blind. Tentnowski four-bet shoved for 915,174, and "RequalsI" called.

Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
"RequalsI": {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The High Roller title would essentially come down to a flip, as the two players were separated by just 14,652 in chips. "RequalsI" survived the {6-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop, but the {k-Clubs} fell on the turn to pull Tentnowski in front. "RequalsI" needed an ace or nine to win the title, but was left wanting on the {8-Clubs} river.

Four hands later, "RequalsI" was all in for 45,608 and at risk against Tentnowski.

"RequalsI": {q-Spades}{2-Spades}
Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski: {5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Tentnowski spiked a five on the {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, and held on the {8-Diamonds} turn and {a-Hearts} river to earn his second NJCOOP title of the series, along with a coveted NJCOOP Championship Trophy.

"ROU$EY": {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}
"RequalsI": {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

"RequalsI" wouldn't be denied, as the {2-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop gave them top set and a big lead. No ten would fall on the {k-Clubs} turn or {6-Hearts} river, and "RequalsI" goes to heads-up play now with a very close stack to current chip leader Stanton "Stonniepokes" Tentnowski.
