2021 New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP)

On Tuesday night, the 2021 New Jersey Spring Championship of Online Poker (NJSCOOP) played host to Event #14-H: $200 NLHE [Super Tuesday], $17.5K GTD. The guaranteed prize pool was met two-thirds of the way through the late registration period, and a total of 145 entries had been recorded when registration closed, generating a prize pool of $26,970 set to be paid to the top 20 finishers.

Six hours and a handful of minutes after play began, "ACE"10276 was the one to call themselves champion, earning the first-place prize of $5,590 to go along with the prestigious NJSCOOP title.

""ACE"10276" was seen at or near the top of the leader board as early as Level 12 and remained there largely all tournament long, entering the final table third in chips. After eliminating the short-stacked Angel "Chr0meKing" Lopez in sixth place, they found themselves in the middle of the pack. By the final break of the night, they were second in chips with three remaining.

When the break finished, ""ACE"10276" was dealt two aces on the very first hand back and got their full stack in against at-the-time chip leader "IGOTCRABZ_33", who had ace-king suited. A few hands later, "IGOTCRABZ_33" ran sixes into the sevens of "JohnnyMania" to take third, and heads-up play only lasted a few short minutes before ""ACE"10276" finished things off in style by besting jack-nine offsuit with pocket kings to win it all.

Others to make it into the money and fall short of the final table included Stanton"Stonniepokes" Tentnowski (17th - $492) and Jaime "moosedeer17" Reyes (11th - $559). Players such as Ryan "hagz2richez" Hagerty, Dan "AvaGray" Lupo, Christopher "Chalmisi6" Hill, and Daniel "loxonbagel" Buzgon were also in the mix after registration closed but were eliminated before the bubble burst.

In Level 28 with blinds of 15,000/30,000 and an ante of 3,750 just a few hands into the heads-up match between "JohnnyMania" and ""ACE"10276", the former opened to 60,000 on the button and then called a three-bet to 220,000 from the latter.

""ACE"10276" checked the flop and "JohnnyMania" bet 150,000. ""ACE"10276" check-jammed for nearly 1.05 million effective and "JohnnyMania" called.

The turn left "JohnnyMania" with only two remaining nines in the deck as cards to keep them alive, and neither came on the river to result in ""ACE"10276" winning the hand and claiming victory in the tournament to go along with it.

"JohnnyMania" has finished in second place, earning $4,260 for their efforts; meanwhile, ""ACE"10276" has become the official champion of NJSCOOP Event #14-H and takes the top prize of $5,590. A tournament recap will be published shortly, so stick around.

In Level 28 with blinds of 15,000/30,000 and an ante of 3,750, "IGOTCRABZ_33" open-shoved for 434,637 on the button and "JohnnyMania" called in the big blind with a covering stack.

"IGOTCRABZ_33" found themselves unable to find a six on the runout and finished the tournament in third place as a result of two coolers in the opening hands returning from break.

In Level 27 with blinds of 12,500/25,000 and an ante of 3,250, Jake "MoZZyNJ" Dynes open-ripped his last 358,366 on the button and saw "JohnnyMania" re-shove for 442,855 in the small blind. "IGOTCRABZ_33" went into the tank in the big blind, but eventually decided not to go for the double knockout.

The flop looked as if it were going to give Dynes exactly what he needed, but the turn just as quickly left him with just two outs. Neither of the two remaining aces in the deck came on the river and Dynes was eliminated in fourth place as a result.
