Aido Doubles Through Thorel

Level 6 : 300/600, 100 ante

The cards of Jean-Noel Thorel were already in the muck while Sergio Aido was busy stacking his chips, the cards still visible with {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for a set on the board of {Q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. Aido was kind enough to provide the details of what happened, as his double was to more than two times the current average.

According to Aido, a raise was followed by four callers and the flop brought a bet of 5,000 by Thorel and a call by Jonathan Bussieres from one seat over. Aido raised to 20,000 and Thorel was the only caller before check-calling the shove of the Spaniard on the turn with {A-}{Q-} for top two pair. The river blanked and that cut Thorel's stack into half.
