Rocco Palumbo More Than Triples Up

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Daniel Dvoress raised to 23,000 from middle position and Rocco Palumbo moved all in for 12,000. Palumbo was crippled in an earlier hand and didn't look at his cards as yet. Michael Rocco was in the big blind and decided to defend.

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Rocco checked, and Dvoress bet 20,000. Rocco went into the tank and eventually check-raised to 52,000. Dvoress called.

The turn was the {k-Clubs}. Both players checked.

The river was the {5-Diamonds}. Action was on Rocco, but he appeared to be staring straight ahead into the abyss, deep in thought. After several minutes, Dvoress called the clock. The floor came over and counted down. At the ten second mark, Rocco began cutting out chips. With just a few seconds left, he slid a stack out to bet 175,000. Dvoress was now in the tank. After about a minute, he folded.

Rocco tabled {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines with a ten kicker. Palumbo was finally able to table his hand to reveal his fate. He turned over {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for two pair, nines and deuces and more than tripled up.
