Stewart, Meet Stuart

Table 18 could easily be called the table death - amongst some of the notables to grace its felt include 2009 Aussie Millions Main Event champion Stewart Scott, PokerNetwork Live vs Online Invitational Shootout finalist Kerry Stead and 2008 Western Classic Main Event champion Marc Des Anges.

However the relatively unknown Stuart Rey has been the first to draw some chips from the big names early on.

Rey raised it up to 300 from early position, Stead made the call as well as Des Anges from the big blind to see a flop of {5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

Des Anges checked, Rey opened for 500, Stead got out of the way and Des Anges called. Des Anges would then check-call each of Rey's bets of 500 on both the turn of the {9-Spades} and the river {5-Diamonds}.

Rey tabled {A-Hearts}{K-Spades} and Des Anges mucked. Upon the request from the reporter for Dey's name, Scott remarked, "Is your name Stewart?"

"Yes it is," he replied, "But it's spelt S-T-U-A-R-T."

"Oh well," Scott replied smiling, "You can't get everything right!"

Sounds like the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Tough Table

Crocy is apart of the table of death

With the nature of the bounty event a lot of the notable players have been spread far and wide early on. However some of them have slipped through the net and all landed at table 26.

The table of tough death so far consists of Matthew Kirk, Tino Lechich, Julian Powell, Michael Zowie, Billy "The Croc" Argyros, and Karib Karib.

The table is right on the rail so a sizeable crowd has gathered round. One only wishes this was a rebuy event!

Who's Here?

Some of the notables in the field include Emad Tahtouh, "Toothpick" Tony Kambouris, Bruno Portaro, Bill Jordanou, Tony Hachem, Sam Khouiss, Chris Chronis, Ben Savage, Andrew Demetriou, Andrew Jeffreys, Roy Vandersluis, Michael Guzzardi, Steve Topakas, Dennis Huntly, Matthew "OnMyVPlates" Pearson, and Kerry Stead.

A Little Bit More About The Event

Due to the large numbers the tournament will be played as a standard mutli-table tournament until we get down to the final 32 players at which point it will move to a shootout format.

Players will then carry their chips over into four shootout tables seeded according to chip stack. They will then play down until there are two players remaining on each table, players again carry their chipstack over to the final table.

One final quirk is that players have 20 seconds to act on their hands. If they fail to act in that time their hand is declared dead.
