Box Thinks His Way Outside

Rasmus Gandrup raised from the cutoff and Mark Box flat called from the button. They proceeded to a {9-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {9-Diamonds} flop, which they both checked. Gandrup checked the {Q-Spades} turn as well, and called a 1,500 bet from Box. Come the {2-Spades} river, Gandrup checked again, and this time Box moved all in for 5,925. Gandrup now disappeared into the tank, and only came out again when the clock was called on him. He astonishingly called, and turned over an astonishing {5-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}; astonishingly Box could only boast {K-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} and sat there for a moment shaking his head, before leaving the tournament area.

Live or Let Die

Liv Boeree
Liv Boeree
Sadly for all male viewers (and some female), Liv Boeree is now out. She ran {K-?}{Q-?} into {A-?}{A-?} on the flop of an {8-?}{Q-?}{4-?}{6-?}{8-?} board and, obviously, failed to improve.

"You looked at me so beautiful," said the victor as Boeree exited stage left, "but I can't fold this hand."

Reluctant credit to PokerNews' Gloria for the title pun.

Steiner Busts

My, this is a steep, steep structure, and plenty of stacks have found themselves rather shorter than is ideal. Definitely among those shorties, Christian Steiner moved all in for his last 2,500 holding {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} and found an unwilling but chipped-up caller in the form of Rasmus Gandrup, holding {J-Diamonds} {9-Clubs}.

Board: {K-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {2-Spades} {J-Hearts} {5-Spades}

Steiner walked off without a word, possibly to drown his sorrows in meat slabs and mustard. Or possibly not.

Three-Way All In Action

Thomas Thalhammer raised, and Fedor Los pushed. To his left, Roberto Siegel re-shoved. Thalhammer called all in, and they were on their proverbial backs.

Los: {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}
Siegel: {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds}
Thalhammer: {A-Spades} {K-Clubs}

Board: {4-Spades} {K-Hearts} {2-Spades} {7-Clubs} {5-Spades}

Thus Thalhammer hammered the competition and tripled up to around 12,000, Siegel picked up the side pot but nevertheless found himself more or less crippled to 3,000 or so, and Los, well, lost -- he was left with just 500.
