Chan and Liu Chop Up Opponent’s Chips
Two interesting back-to-back hands have just played out that have seen Michael Chan and Zhouxin Liu chip up, at the expense of an unfortunate opponent.
We are not sure of the identity of the mystery player, but then he is also no longer in the running unless of course, he chooses to re-enter.
The first of the hands was by far the biggest with our mysterious challenger opening the action to 800 from early position with a player on the button making the call before action was on Chan in the big blind.
The Malaysian looked down at his hole cards and slid out a chunky raise, making it 3,200 to go. Chan received no respect for his raise and both opponents called to keep the action three-way to a flop of .
First to act, Chan moved all-in for 10,700 and our international man of mystery called and the button quickly got out of the way. Chan, holding found himself up against his opponent’s and needed to fade a club and an ace, and duly did so to win a pot close to 50,000.
Chan’s opponent was all in for the last of his chips with the very next hand with Zhuoxin Liu making the call with and the board ran out to award Liu the pot and send his opponent out the door.
