Holz Raises the River Against Ponakovs
Level 23
: Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Fedor Holz made it 110,000 to go on the button and was called by Aleksejs Ponakovs out of the big blind. Both checked the flop and Ponakovs led the turn for 100,000, earning a call from Holz.
As the river completed the board, Ponakovs announced a bet of 125,000. The time bank of Holz almost reached zero before he grabbed into his stack, removed one T-25,000 chip and then raised it up to 475,000.
Ponakovs was sent into a brief tank and folded, becoming the joint short stack alongside David Peters. The new level was already underway for four minutes by then but only in the following hand, the blinds moved up.
