Dattani and Neves Trade Pots

Level 31 : Blinds 100,000/150,000, 150,000 ante

Pedro Neves opened to 300,000 with {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} from the button. Michel Dattani called from the big blind with {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Action checked through on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop to the {j-Clubs} turn. Dattani check-called for 600,000 which brought in the {2-Hearts} river. Both players checked to showdown and Dattani scooped in the pot.

The Portuguese duo then battled again the very next hand. Dattani limp-raised the {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} to 1,400,000 after Neves made it 525,000 with {a-Spades}{10-Spades}. Neves called.

Dattani continued for 700,000 on the {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop and was called. On the {j-Hearts} turn, Dattani check-folded to a bet of 1,100,000.

Jared BeamDoctorPoker Halter Streams PokerStars Platinum Pass Invitational Victory

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Jared Halter

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) is happening now, and later this month the PokerStars Players NLH Holdem Championship (PSPC) will take place January 30-February 3. One man who will be heading to the Bahamas is 41-year-old Jared BeamDoctorPoker Halter, who won a Platinum Pass on PokerStars Michigan.

I won a PSPC Platinum Pass on Wednesday, November 9, Halter told PokerNews. I had just returned from Vegas that morning on a red eye flight and slept for four hours on a friends couch before I drove home for two hours. To be honest, I was very fortunate to win because I had a very rough 72 hours. Some things happened in Vegas that caused me to have anxiety attacks for the first time in my life and I ended up only sleeping about five hours total in the previous 48.

He continued: I was exhausted and when the MTT started, I said to myself, it will take a miracle for me to win. Funny enough, I mis-clicked two different times early in the tourney and called three-bets with hands like 85o (I did not win those hands). I streamed the tourney, and only single tabled it, because of how tired and ungrounded I felt from the previous time. During the stream, I talked about how exhausted I was and how there was almost zero chance I win. Of course, as we know, the universe had a different plan.

Michel Dattani, with {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, opened to 250,000 from the button and called when Artur Martirosian made it 1,000,0000 from the big blind with {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Martirosian continued for 425,000 on the {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} flop and quickly folded when Dattani jammed as the big stack.

Dattani Doesn't Pay Off Neves

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Pedro Neves
Pedro Neves

In a limped battle of the blinds between the two players from Portugal, Michel Dattani checked the {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop with his {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Pedro Neves bet 180,000 with the {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for an open-ender and the {2-Diamonds} followed on the turn. Dattani check-called another 540,000 to create a pot of 1,800,000.

The {6-Hearts} on the river gave Dattani two pair while Neves made the straight. Following a check by Dattani, Neves now bet 1,350,000 for a big portion of the pot and Dattani used one time bank extension before making a very disciplined fold.

Martirosian Battles Back

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Artur Martirosian
Artur Martirosian

In a limped pot to the {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop, Artur Martirosian bet 240,000 with the {q-Spades}{7-Spades} and Michel Dattani called with the {k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}. The {2-Spades} turn gave Dattani a pair while Martirosian picked up a flush draw, which he overbet with for 1,080,000 to force a fold from Dattani.

Dattani then opened to 450,000 with the {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} on the button, prompting a fold of Pedro Neves with the {8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}.

The next limped pot to the {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop was checked and Neves bet the {q-Diamonds} turn for 240,000 with {k-Hearts}{6-Spades} for two pair. Martirosian called with the {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a straight and flush draw, which he hit with the {10-Diamonds} river.

Neves slowed down and checked for Martirosian to bet 600,000 into 840,000. Neves gave up his hand.

Neves and Martirosian River Flushes

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Pedro Neves limped in from the small blind with {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Arur Martirosian checked his option with {10-Clubs}{6-Spades}.

Neves check-called for 120,000 and 360,000 on the flop and turn for the final board to show {q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. Both players had flushes but Neves had the ace-high flush.

Neves checked and Martirosian wisely checked behind to lose the minimum.

Dattani Takes the Lead After Coolering Neves

Level 30 : Blinds 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
Michel Dattani
Michel Dattani

Pedro Neves made it 240,000 to go on the button and Michel Dattani three-bet to 960,000 in the big blind. What followed was a four-bet click to 2,000,000 by Neves and the action was back on Dattani.

After using one time bank, Dattani glanced at all stacks and then moved all-in for 6,545,000 to get snap-called by his fellow countryman.

Pedro Neves: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Michel Dattani: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}

The {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop gave Dattani aces full and Neves needed running kings or nines to avoid a major setback. However, the {3-Diamonds} turn and {10-Spades} river runout flipped the stack sizes of the two players from Portugal to see Dattani leap into the top spot.
