Defending Champion Falls to Haxton

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Bryn Kenney
Bryn Kenney

Isaac Haxton opened to 26,000 from early position and called a three-bet jam of about 130,000 from defending champion Bryn Kenney one seat over.

Kenney: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Haxton: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The most classic of races was underway and Kenney quickly lost his advantage when Haxton spiked a king on the {k-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop. No help came with the {9-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} run out and Kenney departed in 13th place.

Kurganov the Bounty Hunter

Level 12 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Igor Kurganov raised to 30,000 from under the gun and the action folded around to Sylvain Loosli in the big blind. Loosli shoved all in for 103,000 and Kurganov quickly called.

Igor Kurganov: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Sylvain Loosli: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}

It was another race until the flop came {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, giving Kurganov trip aces and a massive lead in the hand. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and the river brought the {8-Hearts}, eliminating Loosli from the competition. Kurganov has been a tirade the last couple levels, knocking someone out in what seems to be every hand he plays.

Adams Doubles Through Yaroshevskyy

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Igor Yaroshevskyy got his stack in before the flop from the hijack against Timothy Adams who was on the button. Adams had the smaller of the two stacks by only 20,000 chips.

Yaroshevskyy: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Adams: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}

Adams had a commanding lead with his aces and Yaroshevskyy needed help in order to send him to the rail. The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts} which missed both players, so Adams took the pot to double up and leave Yaroshevskyy with crumbs.

Kurganov Closing in on One Million

Level 11 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The action folded to Igor Kurganov in the small blind who raised to 33,000. Oleksii Khoroshenin was in the big blind and moved all in for around 240,000, which Kurganov instantly called.

Kurganov showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and was dominating Khoroshenin's {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. The board ran out clean for Kurganov and his ace-jack high was good enough to eliminate Khoroshenin, sending him to nearly 1,000,000 chips.

Chris Hunichen opened to 20,000 from under the gun and Sam Greenwood pushed all in for 155,000 from the cutoff. The action folded back to Hunichen who quickly made the call and was in great shape to eliminate Greenwood.

Hunichen held {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and was way ahead of Greenwood's {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The board ran out {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Greenwood missed his flopped flush draw, sending his chips to Hunichen.

Mustapha Kanit
Mustapha Kanit
