Mikita Badziakouski Leads After Day 1 of the $25,000 High Roller
Day 1 of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2018 $25,000 3-Day High Roller has come to an end with 50 players moving on to Day 2.
The action kicked off at noon local time inside the Atlantis Resort on the beautiful Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The field grew all day capping off with 141 total entries. Each player was permitted one re-entry and 42 took advantage of the second chance.
When the dust settled, it was Mikita Badziakouski slightly out-chipping Nick Petrangelo for the top spot on the leaderboard. Badziakouski bagged 403,500 while Petrangelo carries forward a healthy 397,700.
Jonathan Jaffe (350,000), Ryan Mceathron (343,000) and PokerStars Team Pro Igor Kurganov (334,000) round out the top five while the likes of Jean-Noel Thorel (275,000), Ankush Mandavia (262,000), Steve O'Dwyer (231,500), and Isaac Haxton (227,100) will all carry sizeable stacks into Day 2.
Joining Kurganov on Day 2 are PokerStars Team Pros Daniel Negreanu (153,800), Andre Akkari (57,000), and Liv Boeree (52,000). Jeff Gross was in attendance but was one and done hitting the rail soon after the dinner break.
Ben Tollerene was the first player to fire both bullets and miss the target. Following in Tollerene's footsteps were Vladimir Troyanovskiy, Igor Yaroshevskyy, Ivan Luca, Ryan Riess, and Orpen Kisacikoglu among others.
Play resumes at noon local time on Saturday with another 10, 60-minute levels on the schedule. Registration does remain open until the clock starts on Day 2 so there are a few players that have another bullet in the barrel and some who did not show up for Day 1.
