Raskin's "Value Bet"
Micah Raskin and an opponent were heads up on a board of , and there was about 9,500 in the middle. Raskin had a bet of 4,000 sitting in front of him, and the player had been in the tank for a considerable amount of time.
"Why so small?" he finally asked.
"It's called a value bet, sir," Raskin answered bluntly.
Then Matt Stout spoke up.
"I'm going to have to call the clock on you if you keep taking this long for every decision," he told the player. "I didn't say anything during the big pot, but this is a small one."
