Steven & Benefield Depart Shy Of The Dinner Break
"All in and a call," we heard a dealer shout.
We made our way over just in time to discover that a short-stacked Brandon Steven was all in for his last 34,400 holding and up against the of Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier. It was a classic flip, but Steven needed to improve to stay alive. The flop wasn't helpful, and neither was the turn. The river was a paint card, but unfortunately for Steven it was the useless .
"Good luck everyone," Steven said before telling Dan Shak he may re-enter tomorrow (late registration is open up until the start of Day 2).
Meanwhile, David Benefield was eliminated up on the feature table. We're not sure of all the details, but we do know Benefield got it all in holding and was ahead of Antonio Esfandiari's . Benefield was ahead, but not after the flop delivered "The Magician" a seven. Benefield was unable to catch up and was replaced at the final table by Daniel Alaei.
