Twenty-Three Thousand
We arrived on scene to find some controversy brewing at Table 10. In a hand between Tomasz Panek and Shannon Shorr, the board read . Panek, who was first to act, threw out a single blue t5,000 chip to bet and said "Twenty-three thousand, I mean twenty-three hundred."
The dealer insisted that the bet would stand as 2,300 as Panek's words were clearly a mistake. Shorr, however, was adamant that the bet of 23,000 should stand.
The floor was called and an initial ruling was made in favor of Panek, saying that the bet would stand at 2,300.
"If that's the ruling then you're making a bad ruling," insisted Shorr.
After a moment the ruling was then confirmed with another floor supervisor and the ultimate decision was in favor of Shorr. The bet was 23,000 which was enough to put Shorr all in.

Shorr was way out in front with top set and stayed that way as the turned and the rivered. With this win Shorr doubled to around 40,000 while Panek fell to only about 2,100 in chips.
