"Gohednpopoff" Hits a Set, Gets an Elimination

"Gohednpopoff"
"Gohednpopoff"

In Level 12 with blinds of 1,600/3,200 and an ante of 400, action folded around to "Moose4Life" on the button and they jammed for 60,600. "Gohednpopoff" called in the small blind.

"Moose4Life": {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
"Gohednpopoff": {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}

"Moose4Life" hit a queen on the turn as the board ran out {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs}{a-Spades}, but that very card left them drawing dead to "Gohednpopoff's" set of fives and they were eliminated from the tournament. After winning the pot, "Gohednpopoff" finds themselves with over a quarter-million.

Engel Climbing

Early in Level 12 with blinds of 1,600/3,200 and an ante of 400, Ari Engel had chipped up over 150,000 and saw "pay4medsch00l" open to 6,400 in early position. Engel was next to act and three-bet to 18,300. "LordRamsaySlays" cold four-bet shoved for 49,600 and action made its way back to Engel, who called.

"LordRamsaySlays": {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Ari Engel": {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The two were off to the races but the flop {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} reduced the number of outs in the deck for "LordRamsaySlays" as Engel picked up a flush draw. The turn {2-Spades} brought a gutshot straight draw on board for a possible chop, but the river {3-Diamonds} left Engel out in front and earned him another pot, bringing his stack up to 242,500. Meanwhile, "LordRamsaySlays" re-entered a few minutes later.

Fun Runout for Engel

Ari Engel
Ari Engel

In Level 11 with blinds of 1,400/2,800 and an ante of 350, "UFOLDIWIN" jammed for their last 10 big blinds under the gun and Ari Engel reraised all in from the hijack to fold the rest of the players out of the pot.

"UFOLDIWIN": {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Ari Engel": {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Engel was ahead and saw the flop {10-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} take two of his opponent's six outs away. However, one of the four tha "UFOLDIWIN" needed came on the turn {j-Diamonds}. It would not end up being enough as the river {6-Clubs} put Engel back out in front with the nut flush and earn him the pot.

"UFOLDIWIN" was not eliminated for long, wasting no time before getting back in on the action.

Get to Know BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro Katie Stone

Katie Stone
Katie Stone

BorgataPoker.com has a trio of Sponsored Pros, and one of them is Katie Stone, who has been active in the 2020 Borgata Spring Poker Open Online Series.

Stone has more than $176K in lifetime live tournament earnings including a career-bet $33,305 for finishing 378th in the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event. In addition, Stone has three Borgata Open titles including the 2018 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepest Stack for $19,337, 2017 Borgata Summer Poker Open $300 Ladies Event for $2,867, and 2017 Borgata Fall Poker Open $300 Deepstack for $9,484. She also recently won the CSOP Borgata Winter Poker Open Event back in January.

However, where Stone has really thrived is online where shes amassed more than $900K in lifetime earnings. Of that, $146,954 has come on BorgataPoker.com where she plays under the screen name KatieStone.

According to a Q&A she did with the Borgata Blog, Stone was born and raised in New Jersey, but after Black Friday in 2011, she relocated to Rosarito, Mexico in order to continue playing online. When New Jersey authorized Atlantic City casinos to offer online gaming within state borders, Stone moved back north to New Jersey and picked up where she left off winning!

Recently, Stone took the initiative to create the Discord channel Poker Peeps Affected By COVID19 and invited those in casino industry affected by recent shutdowns to join.

I realized how tough it was going to be for everyone to keep up with everything and everyone, with so much changing so fast, Stone recently told PokerNews. So, I messaged my friend Cy Watson, who has been very active on social media as well regarding Coronavirus, asking him if he thought it would be a good idea to start a chat for people in the industry to be able to connect with each other for help.

She continued: I think the main thing poker players and everyone can do is to keep an open mind. Understanding that this is unlike any situation any of us have encountered before, and so thinking outside the box can go a long way. Taking the time to improve a skill, or learn a new skill whether it's a game or something else could be really beneficial not just financially, but mentally.

"Whosyourdoddy"

In Level 9 with blinds of 1,000 and an ante of 250, "PSL16197" and "Whosyourdoddy" got all of their chips into the middle before the flop. "PSL16197" was in middle position and barely covered "Whosyourdoddy," who was on the button.

"PSL16197" {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
"Whosyourdoddy": {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

"PSL16197" went from having three outs to four as the flop came {k-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{q-Spades}. The turn {8-Clubs} and river {2-Clubs} were a couple of blanks that left "Whosyourdoddy" with the best hand, scoring the double with their pair of queens.

"PSL16197" was left with 650 and they lost those remaining chips moments later, but wasted no time re-entering to receive a new stack of 50,000.

"sri50k"
"sri50k"

In Level 8 with blinds of 800/1,600 and an ante of 200, preflop action saw 14,400 go into the middle to bring a flop of {5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. "KingKong24" checked in the big blind and Anthony Maio bet 7,200 in middle position. "sri50k" raised to 21,600 in the cutoff and "KingKong24" check-reraised all in for just over 41,000.

Maio went deep into the tank and eventually folded to put action back onto "sri50k," who called.

"KingKong24": {6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
"sri50k": {k-Spades}{8-Spades}

"kingKong24" had flopped an open-ended straight flush draw but needed to improve beyond the pair of eights that "sri50k" had. The turn {5-Spades} and river {j-Diamonds} left them dry and the pot was sent to "sri50k."

Top Pair Good for Stone

Katie Stone
Katie Stone

BorgataPoker.com Sponsored Pro Katie Stone recently added her name to the list of entrants and raised to 2,400 under the gun in Level 7 with blinds of 600/1,200 and an ante of 150.

"goods21" was the lone caller, doing so out of the small blind to bring a flop of {8-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. "goods21" checked to Stone, who made a continuation-bet of 3,600. "goods21" thought for a while, going into their time bank before calling.

The turn came {6-Diamonds} and "goods21" led out for 3,600. Stone made the call and the river fell {3-Clubs}, where both players checked to take the hand to showdown.

"goods21" showed {5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for a missed flush draw and a rivered pair of threes, and Stone showed {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a pair of aces, good to earn her the pot.
